New Scholarhips and Programs for 2001-2002
New Scholarships and Programs for 2001-2002 In fiscal year July 1, 2001, to June 30, 2002, the following new scholarships and programs were established through the MSU Foundation:
Agriculture
  • COA-Student Activities Endowment Fund. Established in response to various donors wishing to support the programs and activities of the College of Agriculture.
  • Woodrow W. Overcast Agriculture Endowment Fund. Established by Woodrow W. Overcast, '40 Ph.D., to support a worthy student who is a Montana resident enrolled in a degree-granting program in the College of Agriculture.
  • Burkenpas Agricultural Education Scholarship Fund. Established by Gallatin Equipment Co. and B&B Associates to support scholarships to worthy students enrolled in a degree-granting program in the Agriculture Education Program in the College of Agriculture.
  • Hormay Memorial Range Award Fund. Established by the Range Land Management Society in memory of August L. Hormay to support graduate students in the Animal and Range Sciences Department in the College of Agriculture.
Athletics
  • Collins Track Scholarship Endowment Fund. Established by Shane Collins Construction, Inc. to provide scholarships to students who participate in the MSU Track Program.
  • McGee Football Athletic Scholarship Fund. Established by McGee Partnership to provide scholarships to students who participate in the MSU Football Program.
  • Kiser/Murphy Track Fund. Established by Nickel Ante, Inc. to support the MSU Bobcat track and field renovation.
Business
  • J.C.C.S., P.C. Scholarship Fund. Established by Junkermier, Clark, Campanella, Stevens, P.C. to support scholarships in the College of Business.
  • Scott and Barbara Heck Faculty Scholarship Fund. Established by Scott and Barbara Heck, '85, to support faculty in the College of Business in delivering outstanding educational experiences to students.
  • Donald W. Bullock Scholarship Fund. Established from the proceeds of an estate gift made by Donald W. Bullock, and pursuant to the terms of his bequest, to provide scholarship support to worthy students in the College of Business.
Engineering
  • C&H Engineering & Surveying, Inc. Endowment Fund. Established by C&H Engineering Surveying, Inc. to provide general support to the Civil Engineering Department in the College of Engineering.
  • Nicholas J. Clare Memorial Fund. Established by Marie J. and Ronald J. Clare in loving memory of their son, Nicholas J. Clare, (MSU student '01) to provide renewable scholarships to worthy students who are pursuing or planning to pursue a degree from the College of Engineering.
  • HKM Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund. Established by HKM Engineering, Inc. to support civil engineering, construction engineering technology or general engineering recruitment scholarships.
  • Bob and Jan Livesay Endowment Fund. Established by Bob, '69, and Jan, '68, Livesay to support worthy students pursuing an undergraduate degree in civil engineering or construction engineering technology.
  • Frank L. Eckard Scholarship Endowment Fund. Established through a gift from the estate of Frank L. Eckard, '62, to provide scholarships for third-year electrical engineering students.
  • Austin W. Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Established by a bequest from Dorothy D. Nelson to provide scholarship support to Montana residents who are engineering students.
Library
  • Bud Lilly Chair in Trout & Salmonid Bibliography Fund. Established to support a full-time faculty position for MSU Libraries Special Collections.
  • Wingate Inn/Steve & DeAnn Sparks Fund. Established by Steve and DeAnn Sparks to support the construction and furnishing of the MSU Renne Library renovation project.
MSU - Great Falls College of Technology
  • Will Weaver Honorary Scholarship Fund. Established in honor of Will R. Weaver, '65, '71, to provide scholarship support to worthy students enrolled in the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology.
  • Robert & Helen Rumford Gabbert Memorial Scholarship Fund. Established by Nancy Gabbert Bennani in memory of her parents, Robert and Helen Rumford Gabbert, to provide scholarships to worthy students enrolled in the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology.
  • Spectrum Medical, Inc. Scholarship Fund. Established by Spectrum Medical, Inc. to provide scholarships to worthy students who are enrolled in the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology Nursing Program and the Respiratory Care Program.
  • Auto Body Repair & Refinishing Program Fund. Established to provide scholarships to worthy students who are enrolled in the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology Auto Body Repair & Refinishing Program.
Other
  • The Hietpas Family Fund. Established by Jo Anne and Gerald J. Hietpas, '57, to support university scholarships.
  • Browning Education Endowment Fund. Established by an anonymous donor to provide scholarship support to students who graduated from Browning, Mont., High School.
  • Michael Malone Presidential Scholarship Fund. Established in memory of President Michael P. Malone (1991-1999) to support students in history and philosophy.
  • Eugene Albert Gruden Scholarship. Established from the proceeds of a deferred gift annuity from Anna Gruden to support undergraduate student scholarships.
