Douglas Switzer, '90 MCET, San Diego, Calif., recently received his second Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal while assigned to 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, San Diego.
Colleen Lahr, '91 Acctg, Ferndale, Wash., was recently promoted to chief financial officer at Grizzly Industrial, Inc., a leading retailer of wood and metal working machinery and tools. She, her husband Paul '89 ME and children reside in Ferndale.
Marla (Wyche) Weisenborn, '91 Art, New York, N.Y., after eight years as a production artist at MAD Magazine, has decided to stay at home with her baby girl, Whitney. Whitney turned one August 11. Marla now does free-lance design work.
Rachel (Riley) Heitz, '92 BuMgt, Salt Lake City, Utah, and husband, Ned, were expecting their first child in August. Rachel is employed by American Express as a project manager and Ned is the strength coach for the U.S. Freestyle Snowboard team.
Racene Friede, '92 Spcm, Missoula, "After enjoying a great work experience with the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce for five years, I moved to the land of the grizzlies, Missoula, where I currently work as a marketing and public relations rep at Blackfoot Telephone. Being a Bobcat in Griz country isn't easy but I take pride in being a devoted MSU Alum. I love my job and thank MSU and the Bozeman Chamber for such a great learning experience. My years in Bozeman prepared me well for the challenging and rewarding career I now have. MSU and Bozeman will forever hold a special place in my heart!"
Timothy Tharp, '93 Math,'99 M, Dutton, just completed his first year as K-12 principal with the Dutton Public School system. He previously taught math and social studies for eight years in Scobey.
Vickie Tischendorf, '93 Acctg, Belgrade, was appointed associate athletic director for business operations/senior women administrator for MSU Athletics
Boyd Dailey, '93 Acctg, Boise, Idaho, recently completed an MBA at Boise State University in May. He is currently working in the Financial Reporting Department of Washington Group International, Inc. (formerly Morrison Knudsen Corp.) in Boise.
Krista (Lee) Evans, '94 AgBu, is a policy analyst for the Montana Legislature. She and her husband, Scott, welcomed the arrival of Zachary Mason Evans on Nov. 21.
Tamara Fisher, '95 ElEd, Polson, was named the 2001 Polson Teacher of the Year.
Travis Vick, '96 CET, Keller, Texas, is a project engineer for Archer Western.
Leif Anderson, '96 AnSci, '98 M, Hettinger, N.D., has taken a new job as a research specialist with North Dakota State University-Hettinger Research and Extension Center, heading the Southwest Feeders Project.
Cynthia Mesko, '97 ElEd, Bakersfield, Calif., has been teaching second grade for five years and is teaching first grade this school year. She is working on a masters degree in technology and will graduate in 2004. Her email address is cruiser@lightspeed.net. She would love to hear from her MSU family.
Corinne Krauss, '98 Phys, Boulder, Colo., received a masters degree in astrophysics, planetary and atmospheric physics in May 2001.
Jeffrey Brabant, '98 Tech Ed, Billings, is head baseball coach for the Billings Scarlets.
Erin Karakas, '99 Micro, Minneapolis, Minn., is attending the University of Minnesota pursuing an MEd in science education.
Adam Houts, '99 Soc, and wife, Natalie, '99 HHD, Las Vegas. Adam works as a forensic specialist for the state of Nevada. Natalie completed her second year coaching girls basketball and winning the state tournament last February for Centennial High School.
Jessica Jacobsen, '99 HHD, Providence, R.I., graduated from Duke University in May with a doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree and is now working in Providence.
