Class Notes 1990s
Nick Flynn, '90 Acctg (Business), Cumming, Ga., has accepted a transfer with UPS to their corporate office in Atlanta. He will be working in the CRM Technology Dept.
Stephen Ward, '90 CE (Engineering), was recently awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded during an incident in Mosul, Iraq, in January 2004. He was in Iraq leading a team of civilian engineers known as the Forward Engineering Support Team (FEST). The group was building a bridge between the cities of Irbil and Mosul. Stephen is now second in command at the ROTC program at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Mich. He currently resides in Milan, Mich., with his wife, Mercedes, and one-year-old daughter and three-year-old son.
Lance Kind, '96 CS (Engineering), Redmond, Wash., has published his first novel titled "Manpower."
Jon Konen, '98 ElEd (Edu, Hlth, & Hum Dev), Power, has accepted a position as principal and athletic director in the Power School District (K-12). He recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Arts Education in Educational Leadership degree.
Bambi Mattila, '98 Photo (Arts & Architecture), Mount Holly, N.C., has won the National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) photographer of the year title for 2004. Mattila was presented the award at the NMPA banquet on January 23, becoming the first female photographer to win this award.
William Stevens, '98 BuMg (Business), West Richland, Wash., was promoted to shift superintendent with Con-Agra foods, Specialty Potato Products/LambWeston.
