Class Notes 1950s & 1960s
1950s
Louis Ward ,'51 AnSci (Agriculture), was recently recognized at an alumni function for having the most kids and grandkids (combined total) who graduated from MSU. Both Louis and wife Maureen reside in Bozeman, as does son Paul and his wife Karen.
Edward Spang, '52 RSci (Agriculture), and wife Marlene celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 19. Ed was the recipient of the MSU Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumni Service Award 1986. Ed and Marlene are retired, have two children and live in Ontario, Ore.
1960s
Carlene Crnkovich, '72 Math, '76 M, was named an honoree of Finance and Commerce's "Top Women in Finance" 2004 award. Crnkovich, a senior vice president in U.S. Bank's foreign exchange department, began her banking career 27 years ago after working as a mathematics teacher. She currently is helping to enhance U.S. Bank's foreign exchange trading product and serving as foreign exchange liaison with other areas of the bank. Crnkvovich is the first woman and American to chair the board of education internationally for the Association Cambiste Internationale (Financial Markets Association). The board sets the standards for foreign exchange traders worldwide.
Jim Curtis, '66 PreMed (Letters & Science), Malta, was installed on January 8 as the Illustrious Potentate of Algeria Shrine Center in Helena. Algeria Shrine, which Curtis was elected to serve as leader for 2005, is the largest of the three Shrine Centers in Montana.
Ron Skinner, '69 PreVet (Agriculture), and wife Beverly (Pollard) Skinner, '72 Math (Letters & Science), Hall, are still ranching. Three of their four sons have graduated from MSU, and a grandson already has his first Bobcat sweatshirt.
