Class Notes 1940s
Gladys (Nelson), '43 EdHE, and Alvin Meyer Jr.,'44 EX, Fairfield, farmed and manufactured Meyer Ditchers, a machine invented by Al's father and later improved by sons Al and Roy, and sold to farmers all over the country until replaced by sprinkler irrigation systems. A few Meyer Ditchers are still manufactured and sold every year. They sold the ditcher business and retired from farming in 1999.
M. Phyllis (Green) LeFevre, '46 Chem, Casper, Wyo., is still "fiddling around" in the fiddle club, gardening, etc. Her eighth great grandchild was due in June.
Class Notes 1950s
H. P., '56 Phys, and Naomi (Pace) Johnson, '54 Art, Bozeman, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 15.
Tom Mussehl, '58 M F&W, worked 30 years for Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and now lives in Estes Park, Colo., where he is a wildlife photographer and gallery owner.
R. W. "Lefty" Danielson, '58 GS, Merced, Calif., is retired and playing golf with Sally, his wife of 28 years. He has two grandsons who serve in the Gulf - one in the Army and the other in the Navy. "We're very proud of them and the job they do."
Esther (Elliott) Finlayson, '59 Nurs, and husband Don live in Conrad. Both are retired and enjoy traveling and the many hobbies they didn't have time for while working. They have five children, two are MSU grads as well as their daughter-in-law, and now a grandson is well on his way to becoming an MSU alum.
Ruth (Grosswiler) McKay, '58 SecEd, and husband Joe, Kalispell, are both retired. Son Kent lives in Lake Forest, Calif., and son Mike lives in Missoula. Ruth and Joe love to travel and visit their children.
