Class Notes 1980s
John Pribyl, '80 MTA, Talent, Ore., is returning for his 17th season at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. So far this season, he has been cast as Enobarbus in Anthony and Cleopatra, and John Dory in Wild Oats.
Michael Hall, '81 ChE, retired from the U.S. Army after a 20-year career. He is currently living in Germany with wife, Lt.Col. Robin Hall, a military judge, and their four children.
Rick Flansburg, '82 Arch, wife Agata and daughter Kristina have moved yet again. They are now living on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Rick is working for Naval Facilities Engineering Command, privatizing housing and other facilities. Agata is amazed that they spent only one year in San Diego and misses the warm weather. Myrna (Baker) Clark, '82 MEd, Anchorage, Alaska, the visual art supervisor for the Anchorage School District since 1981, recently was selected for the Governor's State Award for Arts Education. Myrna provides the coordination of the visual arts program for an enrollment of over 50,000 students. The National Art Education Association recognized Myrna in 1996 with its Distinguished Service Award Within the Profession. Only one nominee is eligible to receive this award from a field of 50 states and 60 national nominations.
Gregory Bowden, '83 CE, Papillion, Nebraska, will be retiring from the US Navy in March 2003 after 20 years as a nuclear submarine officer. Greg lives with his wife, Priscilla, and daughter, Jessica.
Linda (Allen) Peters, '84 Bus, Bethlehem, Pa., recently began teaching business education classes at Nazareth High School. She is married to Daniel, '83 ChE.
Lt.Col. Mark Bibler, '84 MCET, assumed command of the 703rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Elemndorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska, on Jan. 10. His squadron is in charge of maintenance on the C-130, C-12 and AWAC's aircraft. Mark is stationed at Elmendorf AFB with his wife Becky (Small), '84 BuMk, and his two teenage daughters, Jessica and Kelsey.
Alton Tangedal, '85 Arch, Regina, Sask, Canada, says "Hi to everyone. All is well in the great white north." He would enjoy hearing from anyone and everyone that he met during his time at MSU.
Alyson Mike, '85 Bio, East Helena, is one of 7,886 elementary and secondary schoolteachers nationwide who achieved National Board Certification in 2002. Alyson teaches science at East Valley Middle School.
Scott Snavely, '85 IE, along with wife Lisa and son Chris, age 14, live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where Scott is managing director of 3M Malaysia. Chris is a high school freshman at International School of Kuala Lumpur.
Nancy (Smith) Seleski, '86 ChE, Harris, Minn., has been appointed to the position of manager, distribution operations, supply chain process and services, 3M Company, effective Feb. 1. In her new assignment, she is responsible for managing the operations of the 3M Logistics Distribution Centers in the U.S. as well as providing distribution engineering services on a global basis as required.
Marc Paffhausen, '87 BioSci, and wife, Tamera (Stuart), '89 MChE, live with their children, son, Kade, 6, daughter Kaci, 4 and daughter Quinn, four months, in Butte. Marc received an MBA from the U of M in December.
