Among the Homecoming activities last fall was a "Hike the M Day" organized by MSU Circle K. The first 100 hikers received a free "I hiked the M" T-shirt. Hike the M Day was organized to help raise awareness for the M Restoration Project, an ongoing effort to restore the M on Mount Baldy, establish new trails, stabilize and revegetate erosion scars on the face of the mountain and control weed infestations.
