Class Notes 1980s
Ken Jenkins, '80 PSci, Boise, Idaho, a lifetime member of the MSU Alumni Association, was recently named the Boise City Employee of the Year. Ken was selected as the outstanding employee for 2003 out of more than 1,300 city workers. He was one of 12 department employees considered for the prestigious award. Ken serves as a training coordinator for the Boise Police Dept., where he has supported law enforcement efforts for the last eight years.
Laura (Sim) Burger, '81 M, San Diego, Calif., taught PE and coached the intercollegiate gymnastics team at Sonoma State University from 1981-1985. She is now a professor of exercise science at Grossmont College in San Diego, where she has been since 1985. She was named "Distinguished Faculty" for the 2003-2004 academic year, an honor that recognized campus-wide contributions such as committee leadership, Academic Senate participation, innovation and teaching excellence.
Joyce (Nuttall) Pearson, '83 Art, '85 MEd, is living by the sea in Bellingham, Wash., and is the coordinator of Mental Health Services at the Whatcom County Jail. She also has a private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She is enjoying winter sports, biking and kayaking, and frequently visits her children, who moved back to Bozeman. She would like to meet other MSU grads living in the area.
Sharon (West) Dunn, '88 F& TV, '93 Hist, Bozeman, announces the release of her second nationally published mystery novel, Sassy Cinderella. The first book in the series, Romance Rustlers, came out in 2003 and quickly went into a second printing.
