Annual Mountain West Contemporary Art Auction scheduled in fall
The MSU School of Art will hold its third annual Mountain West Art Auction, "Connections," on Saturday, Oct. 2 in the Baxter Hotel ballroom in downtown Bozeman. The live auction will showcase 50 regionally and nationally recognized artists including Josh DeWeese, ceramicist and director of the famed Archie Bray Ceramic Foundation in Helena; Harold Schlotzhauer, MSU School of Art award-winning professor and widely exhibited painter/printmaker; Rudy Autio; Gennie DeWeese; Michael Haykin; and the MSU School of Art faculty.
"Connections" art items include paintings, glass, photography, jewelry, prints and ceramics. Auction items may be previewed online at www.mwcartauction.com. Bids can be submitted live, over the telephone or with a proxy bid form.
The evening's festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Baxter Hotel ballroom with complimentary hors d'oeuvres, no-host cocktails and art viewing. The auction will start promptly at 8 p.m.. The public is invited to attend a preview of "Connections" on Monday, Sept. 27 from 7-9 p.m. in the Helen E. Copeland Gallery, MSU School of Art.
