| Bill
McMan of Pray established the Ginny McMan Memorial
Scholarship in July 2001 in memory of his wife of
40 years. The renewable scholarship is designated
for a graduate of any Park County high school, with
a preference to incoming freshmen and those with
financial need. The current recipient, Amy Pitman
of Livingston, is a sophomore in General Studies
who plans to pursue international business and Spanish. |

| "Amy is
the quintessential student," says Bill. "She is hardworking,
well-rounded, responsible, ambitious and an exceptional student.
I'm pleased to have such a deserving and delightful recipient
for the scholarship. It's gratifying to see that scholarship
dollars can help make a real difference in a student's life." |
| "In high
school I had applied for many scholarships but did not receive
any," says Amy. "At the Park High award ceremony, the majority
of scholarships seemed to go to the same four people. I felt
honored to receive a scholarship that I had not expected. |
| "It is
hard for many students to afford to go to college. I rely heavily
on financial aid and know that I will be paying off my education
for a long time. Receiving Mr. McMan's scholarship has helped
my financial situation immensely. |
| "I respect
how Mr. McMan is able to honor his wife in such loving memory.
I also admire that he gives so willingly to students he doesn't
even know to better their future. I hope that, in time, I am
able to return the generosity to other students that Mr. McMan
has shown me. I do not know how I will ever be able to repay
Mr. McMan for the gift he has given me. |
| "Scholarships
are very important in inspiring students to strive for more.
This scholarship has certainly inspired me. It is people like
Mr. McMan that help students find their dreams." |
