Bill Johnstone Awarded Significant Sig The national Sigma Chi fraternity recognized MSU alum Bill Johnstone, '66 Hist, with the prestigious Significant Sig award during Homecoming 2003. Johnstone's professional and civic activities led to the national honor. Johnstone is the fifth MSU alum named Significant Sig since the award's inception in 1935. The Fort Benton native graduated with honors from both MSU and the University of Minnesota Law School (in 1969). Johnstone was recently promoted to CEO of the investment firm, D.A. Davidson & Co. "My education at MSU and my fraternity experience were a great preparation for my career and a major factor in the success I enjoy," noted Johnstone. He chairs the University of Minnesota Law School Board of Visitors and serves on the board of directors of the MSU Foundation, the Montana History Foundation, Great Falls Chamber of Commerce, Great Falls Development Authority and Big Sky Airlines. Johnstone is also on the Davidson Companies Board of Directors.
