Class Notes 1970s
Jim Jorgensen, '71 MEd, Carmichael, Calif., retired from San Juan Unified School District in suburban Sacramento, Calif., as school administrator. He currently directs a sports service assigning officials. Jim was an assistant Bobcat basketball coach during the 1970-71 season.
Larry Bentsen, '72 Phys, Knowle Solihull, England, is VP of R&D for Goodrich Corp. He has been head of the Electric Motor Drive Systems Technical Center located in Birmingham, England, since July.
LeRoy Gaub, '72 Ag, and wife, Sheila, returned to Bozeman after a 17 year absence as they completed a military career. Their two sons, CPT Christoff Gaub, '94 Arch, (USAF) and CPT Darin Gaub, '98 PSci, (US Army) were both commissioned through the MSU ROTC program and both are currently stationed in Afghanistan.
Sue (Chamberlain) Warren, '74 Nurs, '88 MN, Great Falls, has a new granddaughter, Addison O'Neill, born April 8. The parents are daughter Rachel and son-in-law Casey O'Neill.
Barbara Bryan, '76 CE, was honored in the 2003 Salute to Women celebration of the Billings YWCA, an annual event recognizing women who have made a difference in the community. Bryan was selected for her career accomplishments, including the donation of writing services to local nonprofits, and for her courage and perseverance in standing up for her beliefs. Bryan sued her local school district over improper school closures in 2001 and won a Montana Supreme Court decision in 2002 advancing the public's right to know and right to participate in decisions of public interest. Bryan works as a free-lance writer and lives in Billings with her husband, Scott Mitchell, '81 AgEn, and their two sons.
James Drummond, '76 AgBu, '85 MPA, Bozeman, has joined Stockman Bank of Montana as president of the Bozeman bank, which will be opening in the near future.
Eleanor Wend, '79 Psy, '87 MEd, Livingston, is the new program coordinator for the MSU-Great Falls Technology Center in Bozeman, a satellite of the MSU-Great Falls College of Technology. The center provides associate degree options in computer technology, continuing education opportunities and customized training for local businesses.
