| Excuses,
Excuses, Excuses: During last fall's phonathon,
some interesting/amusing comments were received.
Here are a few samples: (we're not making these
up!) |
- The
man's mother-in-law said "[her son-in-law] is
off making babies and he won't be back for a
few months."
- Answering
machine: "I've fallen and I can't answer the
phone."
- Now
is not a good time. I'm putting my boy away."
- The
prospect said he was performing surgery on his
own knee and to call back later.
- "Can
you call back because I have one kid on the
toilet, one kid throwing up, and I'm trying
to fix dinner."
- The
son answered and said his dad could not come
to the phone because he was doing the polka.
