Lance Dissel, '70 CE, Richland, Wash., is part of the 6 billion project to remove WWII atomic waste from the Hanford site in Washington. Mary Kay (Knutson) '69 Soc, assists low-income elderly to remain in their home through a volunteer program.Their son, Chris, '88 M Arch, works in San Francisco.
Judy (Hardy) Paynter, '71 Acctg, '72 M, Helena, has been appointed president of The Montana Society of CPAs for the 2002-2003 term. She is the administrator of Tax Policy and Research Process for the Montana Department of Revenue in Helena.
Col. LeRoy Gaub, '72 AgEd, Fort Lawton, Wash., has been assigned as the Senior Army Advisor to the 70th Regional Support Command at Fort Lawton. Gaub and his spouse, Sheila, have two sons also on active duty. Capt. Christoff Gaub, '94 Arch, and his spouse, Heidi, '93 ElEd, are stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Capt. Darin Gaub, '98 PSci, along with his spouse, Sonda, '93 ElEd, and children, Dennara and Declan, are stationed at Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
Dennis Roseleip, '72 Bot, '76 M, Cut Bank, has been named president of the Montana Association of School Superintendents (MASS). He is currently president-elect and will assume his new duties as president in April for a term of one year. Starting this year, Roseleip will also serve on the School Administrators of Montana Board of Directors (SAM) through 2005. In February he will represent Montana school superintendents as a delegate to the 2003 AASA (American Association of School Administrators) Delegate Assembly, which meets during the National Conference on Education in New Orleans Feb. 21-23.
Jean (Hansen) Nedrud, '74 ElEd, and husband, Don, live in Bozeman. Jean is a self-employed property owner/manager. She just completed a year of breast cancer treatments and is doing great.
Lt. Col. David McGuffey, '75 Soc, Laurel, Md., retired after a 24-year career in the U.S. Army. He completed a master's of computer science degree from James Madison University last spring and is currently employed at Science Applications International Corp., in Columbia, Md., as a senior information assurance engineer. David and his wife, Tina, have two children, Erich, 14, and Alexander, 12.
Sid Gustafson, '76 PreVet, lives in Bozeman with his children, Connor and Nina, where he practices veterinary medicine. His literary novel "Prisoners of Flight" will be released in June 2003 by The Permanent Press, and his book "First Aid for the Active Dog," will be published by Alpine Publications in the spring.
Pam (Turnquist) Birkeland, '77 ElEd, '00 M, lives in Helena. Her son Kade, 20, is a junior in chemistry and playing football at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. Son Brant, 18, is a redshirt freshman playing football for the MSU Bobcats and daughter Kiele, 17, is a senior at Helena High and runs varsity cross-country and track.
Glenda (Wills) Elser, '77 Bus, '88 M, and husband, Russell, '77 Bus, Dillon, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in December 2001. Their son Dustin is attending MSU majoring in Business.
Sylvia (Redfield) Elliott, '78 Nurs, Phoenix, Ariz., is a Legal Nurse Consultant for the law firm of Lewis and Roca in Phoenix. She has been with the firm for seven years with her major legal focus in disability insurance defense.
Lt. Col. Warren Driggers, '78 AgBu, is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based in Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Alan Satterlee, '79 ESci, Kalispell, is director of development at Hope Ranch in Whitefish, relocating with his family from Houston, Texas. Hope Ranch is a Christian residential program for troubled girls.
