Montana State-ments Grows in Popularity
Montana State-ments, the MSU Alumni Association's monthly electronic newsletter, is gaining popularity as more alumni submit their e-mail addresses to receive the newsletter.
Subscribers enjoy the easy and quick navigation of the newsletter--no scrolling through pages of text to find something that interests you. Scan all the headlines in a few seconds to find the news you want to read and click on the news item link. The newsletter also breaks down current news about MSU and the Alumni Association into six categories so readers can go directly to what interests them. The categories are:
  • Alumni Association News Information about current happenings in the Alumni Association and upcoming events that are relevant to alumni.
  • Spotlight College Each month an MSU College is featured with its current news and accomplishments.
  • Breaking News from Bobcat Athletics From new recruits to Bobcats in the NFL to another win for the 'Cats, this is a brief on the top stories from Bobcat Athletics.
  • Today's Campus Community Want to know about the hottest topics on campus? Here it is. Faculty and student accomplishments, campus life humor, interesting projects and anything else the Alumni Association thinks may interest you.
  • There's No Place Like Home Do you ever wonder what is going on in Bozeman, if your favorite gathering place is still around, or if the sleepy town you remember has changed much? From the huge growth of Bozeman to the new, trendy, smoke-free Rockin' R Bar, to the top outdoor enthusiast magazines praising Bozeman as great place, you can catch up on it here.
  • Calendar of Events Just what it says. Want to know when the nearest alumni gathering is going to be? Just check here.
In addition to making the newsletter user-friendly, rich in color, and easy to read and navigate, the newsletter seeks to be reader centered in its selection of news items, publishing the news that you will find interesting and want to know about as efficiently as possible.
E-mail is a very efficient method of communication. In addition to Montana State-ments, the Alumni Association uses e-mail to send information in the following categories:
  • Bobcat Athletics News General athletic news
    and events in your area (such as "We beat the
    Griz, again").
  • Events In Your Area Dinners, socials, pub nights, lectures and other gatherings for MSU alumni
    near you.
  • General News Periodic news briefs we feel you may want to know about.
  • Special Announcements Information specific to MSU alumni such as Homecoming, Cat-Griz parties, etc., and invitations to participate in surveys and other research.
  • Special Offers Periodic offers from the Alumni Association for special membership rates, MSU gear and other great deals.
If you wish, you can unsubscribe from one or all of these categories. If athletics is just not your thing, but you do want to hear about when MSU is coming to your town, you have that freedom. Or maybe you just want to get Montana State-ments, it is up to you. The Alumni Association staff values your trust in allowing them to send you the information you want. The Alumni Association does not sell or release your e-mail address to other entities.
